Born in the south of Germany, Anja moved to Berlin in 1992 to give more space to her artistic freedom. Always fascinated by light and shade she completed her education as a lighting technician. For more than a decade, she also works at a college for performing arts and continues to work with successful artists and performers. Her passion with light, creating different moods and shadows is also reflected in her photographic works which she began in 2007. It wasn’t long before international forums and art agencies drew their attention to her unique style. With her art she creates a mixture of fantasy worlds and reality, shaped by silhouettes, reflections and mystical moods. This kind of photography quickly became her personal trademark. She received international awards and publications in countless international magazines and exhibitions. As a curator of the international photography page 1x.com, they appreciate her many years of experience in fine art photography. She continues to run a successful business and sells her art worldwide.
Growing up in a small town in the former German Democratic Republic, Bella was always fascinated by the lives of other people. The dreary gray of prefabricated buildings and the frequent lack of funds, were probably some of the reasons for the strong expression of her unique imagination, which is a distinguishing feature of her sometimes whimsical portraits today. In 2007 she discovered her passion for portrait photography and created her own photographic signature during the coming years. Her works show surreal worlds, some of them are fantastical and some, a kind of bizarre. In 2012 she moved to the colorful city Berlin and realized her dream of living as an artist. She quickly began creating commercial art for international musicians, authors and journalists.
Her works have received several international awards, including several gold and silver medals. Live interviews, publications and exhibitions followed. Since 2016 Bella is volunteering in the organization "Dein Sternenkind" and gives parents photos of their deceased children. On the international photography site 1x.com she is working as a curator since 2018.
